This year we are focusing on how data helps us better understand community needs and turn those insights into action. Through events, partner conversations, resource requests, health screenings, and direct outreach, we are learning what families across the Rio Grande Valley are searching for, asking for, and showing up for.
At AltaCair, data is not just something we collect. It is something we use to listen better, respond smarter, and bring access closer to home.

As we look toward 2027, AltaCair Foundation will focus on strengthening food access, supporting community-informed advocacy, and continuing to connect families with essential resources across the Rio Grande Valley.
Food access
Strengthen partnerships that connect families to reliable, nutritious food and nutrition education, helping to address food insecurity across the Rio Grande Valley.
Advocacy
Bring community experiences and data into conversations about barriers to healthcare and essential resources, keeping community needs at the center.
Continued access
Connect these priorities to existing resource fairs, referrals, coalition efforts, and community partnerships to help families access the support they need.
AltaCair uses community-informed data to shape programs, partnerships, and outreach. We gather insight through:
Community resource fairs
Health screenings and lab testing
Community Care Closet requests
Food distribution efforts
Cluster Meetings
Partner conversations
Website engagement
Community surveys
These insights help us understand what services are needed, where support is needed most, and how we can improve access across the region.
HEALTH ACCESS
AltaCair connects residents with healthcare providers, social service organizations, educational resources, emergency preparedness services, and local support. Recent resource fairs have reached approximately 60–75 community members per event. In March 2026, 27 individuals received lab work at the San Carlos Health Fair.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
The Community Care Closet provides clothing, infant items, household goods, cookware, and other essential necessities. Since November 2025, the Closet has supported nearly 150 families. Since January 2026, it has served 74 individuals and 7 families.
FOOD RELIEF
AltaCair continues to support families through food distribution focused on healthy, affordable food options. Food distribution has supported approximately 80 families, with about 40 families reached monthly in San Carlos.
MEETINGS
AltaCair convenes partners to discuss healthcare access, community needs, and non-medical drivers of health. Across 2024 and 2025, AltaCair hosted 10 Cluster Meetings, with more than 50 participants per meeting.
INNOVATION
Accelerator is AltaCair's annual health summit focused on health equity, data, collaboration, and community impact. Accelerator 2026 is scheduled for October 15, 2026, and will explore how AI and technology can support better health outcomes and improve access.
AltaCair continues to build deeper community relationships across the Rio Grande Valley, including:
As AltaCair enters new communities, the goal is to listen first, understand local needs, and work with trusted partners to determine how AltaCair can be most beneficial.
When someone attends a resource fair, receives lab work, requests household items, participates in food distribution, joins a community conversation, or connects with one of our partners, they help us better understand what access looks like in real life.
